Football Manager creators contribute to Make A Wish UK’s Wish 200 Week
Four Football Manager content creators were among those involved in the fundraising efforts for Make a Wish UK’s Wish 200 Week last week.
The aim of Wish 200 Week is to use the power of gaming to raise £400,000 to grant 200 life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Over the course of the week (Monday, July 18th – Sunday, July 24th), content creators across the gaming space took to their stream set-ups to entertain their audiences and raise money in the process. At the time of writing, this year’s Wish 200 Week efforts had raised a total of £402,000.
Four of those to take part were leading Football Manager creators: Doop, RDF Tactics, Lollujo and TomFM. Collectively, they provided 11 streams of FM22 and it was great to see them involved with such a worthwhile cause.
Jason Suckley, Chief Executive of Make-A-Wish UK, said: “When a child is diagnosed with a critical condition, the joy of childhood is brought to an abrupt end with treatment plans, hospital appointments and worry taking over. A wish has the power to revive that childhood. Thanks to the support of the gaming community this Wish 200 Week, 200 children will be able to have their wishes come true. We're very grateful to everyone who took part.”
Sports Interactive COO Matt Carroll added: “We know first-hand the profound impact gaming can have on people and its ability to do good for society. As such, it was our pleasure to partner with several other leading lights in the gaming community to help Make A Wish UK reach their fundraising goal of £400,000 last week. With that money, they’ll be able to change the lives of 200 critically ill children and young people.”
