Everton Football Club continue as Football Manager Official Partner
Sports Interactive are delighted to announce that we have extended our official partnership with Everton Football Club’s women’s team.
The renewal of the partnership, first launched in 2021, will see Football Manager branding continue to appear on interview backdrops and across content output from Everton Women’s official social media accounts. Football Manager will also be represented in pitchside advertising at Everton Women’s purpose-built home at Walton Hall Park.
Women’s FA Cup winners in 2010, Everton are currently enjoying their sixth successive campaign in the Women’s Super League.
The continuation of this partnership, one of Sports Interactive’s first with an FA WSL side, provides the studio with access to matchday experiences, player appearances and official merchandise for giveaways.
Richard Trafford, Sports Interactive’s Head of Partnerships and Business Development, said: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Everton Women.
“The founders of our studio are lifelong Everton fans, so we know very well just how passionate and loyal the supporters are.”
“Everton was the studio's first top-flight partner a decade ago and to continue this relationship with the club, who not only do great work in the community, but also have an ever-increasing global reach, will hopefully help us reach new heights with all our Football Manager titles.
“Introducing women’s football to Football Manager is a long-standing commitment of the studio and this partnership with Everton is a key part of reinforcing our support of the women’s game.”
Alan McTavish, Chief Executive Officer for Everton Women, added: “Having worked extensively with Football Manager in the past, it’s great to be able to continue our relationship with the Collyer brothers, Miles Jacobson and his fantastic team as they work towards incorporating women’s football into their globally successful game.”
“Women’s football is a rapidly evolving commercial landscape and top brands from diverse industry sectors across the globe are identifying it as a phenomenal opportunity to deliver both return on investment and return on objectives.”
About Everton Football Club
One of the 12 Founder Members of the Football League, Everton has spent more seasons in England’s top division than any other club (120) and been crowned league champions on nine occasions.
Founded in 1878 as St Domingo, the Club has also lifted the FA (Football Association) Cup five times and, in 1985, added the European Cup Winners’ Cup to its prestigious haul.
Throughout its 143-year history, Everton has been known as a family-oriented club based on proud traditions, affectionately referred to as ‘The People’s Club’. Those traditions have also encouraged innovation, ensuring Everton has remained one of the great pioneering clubs in the history of the game. The first club to construct a purpose-built football stadium, its home, Goodison Park, is one of the most revered stadiums in England. In the coming years, the Club will be looking to maintain those traditions in a new 52,888-capacity stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, ensuring the Club’s roots remain in north Liverpool for generations to come.
As a pioneer, the Club is renowned for many firsts that we take for granted in today’s game. Everton was the first club to see its players wear shirts numbered 1 to 11 in a high profile fixture, the first club to go on an overseas tour, the first English club to install dugouts and undersoil heating, the first club to feature in a televised match, the first club to introduce a regular matchday programme, the first club to present its players with medals for winning the Football League championship and the first club to have a player, Dixie Dean, break the 60 goals barrier in a single league season.
About Everton Women
Everton has a significant history in the women’s game – having been one of eight founding members of the Women’s Super League, as well as winning the FA Women’s Premier League, FA Women’s Premier League National Division, FA Premier League Cup and the Women’s FA Cup since forming as Everton Ladies in 1995.
Created following the renaming of Leasowe Pacific, Everton Women has helped to establish and further develop the women’s game in England by producing a number of players that have gone on to represent their countries with distinction at major international tournaments.
In March 2020 the Club confirmed that Everton Women will benefit from increased squad investment and a new leadership structure, with Everton setting its sights on challenging for major honours in the Women’s game.
As part of the restructure, and in addition to the injection of additional funds for scouting and recruitment, Everton Women will benefit from a “One Club” approach offering access to enhanced commercial opportunities, as well as increased marketing and promotion, media and digital coverage and a better connection to the Club’s community programmes - through Everton in the Community.
Everton’s ‘One Club’ vision is a clear symbol of togetherness and unity embodied by the progressive and steps of bringing the men’s and women’s teams closer together in identity and location. Everton’s state-of-the-art USM Finch Farm training complex is home to both the men’s and women’s players.
Everton Women are the only club in the FA WSL that benefit from playing at their own purpose-built stadium at Walton Hall Park. Opened in February 2020 the new 2,200 capacity home for Everton Women is less than a mile from Goodison Park and a 15-minute drive from Liverpool City Centre, ensuring the Club’s roots remain in north Liverpool for generations to come.
