Sports Interactive announce new partnership with Safe in Our World
Today, Sports Interactive can announce that the studio has agreed a new partnership with the video games mental health charity Safe in Our World.
Already a partner of a number of sister studios within the SEGA family, Safe in Our World strive to create and foster worldwide mental health awareness within the video games industry and beyond, thereby helping to destigmatise conversations about and surrounding mental health.
Their current flagship campaign is #LevelUpMentalHealth, which seeks to challenge the games industry to unite and commit to positive change. This starts with workplaces, ensuring that working environments are always safe and supportive of the mental health of its employees.
Through this new partnership, Sports Interactive gain access to a wealth of expertise and resources, including exclusive Mental Health First Aid and awareness training sessions for team members. In return, we are providing a wealth of in-game advertising space for Safe in Our World in Football Manager 2023.
Neil Brock, Sports Interactive’s Community and Customer Experience Manager, said: “With Sports Interactive's reputation as a people-orientated studio with a history of supporting the wellbeing of both our staff and our players, creating this partnership felt like a natural move.
"Having been lucky enough to see first-hand the quality of Safe in Our World's mental health courses and resources, it’s hugely valuable to now have these available to our wider team.
"In addition, to highlight some of the fantastic work the charity has been doing in the video games industry, their banners will now appear in Football Manager via the pitch-side hoardings, continuing our commitment since the start of the pandemic to feature mental health advertising space in-game."
Sarah Sorrell, Charity Manager at Safe in Our World, added: “We are delighted to welcome Sports Interactive onboard as a Level Up Partner. We know mental health & wellbeing has always been of the upmost importance to SI, and we look forward to working together to continue to prioritise supporting their teams, nurturing their talent and providing a healthy, friendly, and safe environment in which to work”.
